Since then, JaLeena has consistently given back to the community by sponsoring events, being a mentor and hosting an Annual Kidz Corner event where young entrepreneurs between the ages of 5-17 get the chance to learn the importance of great customer service, how to present themselves in a professional manor, how to sell and most importantly the opportunity to showcase their business and make money. With strong faith, perseverance, encouragement from friends, family and her mother's unwavering support Jaleena was able to maintain the venue and in the summer of 2020 Create That Party Venue officially opened its for business! JaLeena used her challenges to strengthen her and was able to quickly pivot and grow a successful business. Would it be to go back to the working class or continue to persevere through entrepreneurship? She chose the latter. These times brought on many feelings of doubt, hopelessness, confusion, stress and many times left her uncertain on what path to follow. Like many during those times, Jaleena was faced with the financial challenges of keeping her new, small business aloft and maintaining her livelihood. The grand opening of the venue was set for March 2020 but unfortunately was delayed due to Covid. After much consideration in 2018 Jaleena walked away from her 9-5 and began her journey into full time entrepreneurship. In 2016, she took those tools along with her gifts and started her event planning business Create That Party.Īlthough she quickly moved up the corporate ladder, and was making well over a six figure income, JaLeena was still unfulfilled and knew she wasn't walking in her true purpose and passion. It was during her time with Verizon where JaLeena was able to gain her experience of growing a business and strong customer relations talents. She then continued on to work as the Manager of Talent Acquisitions and the HR Business Partner for Verizon Wireless for over 12 years.
